WHAT IS LOOFAH (LUFFA)?
Loofah is a genus of tropical and subtropical vines classified
in the cucumber family (Cucurbitaceae) with lobed leaves and
yellow female flowers producing a fruit that has a shape similar
to the zucchini. After this fruit is peeled and dried, it becomes
quite tough and porous, but when soaked in hot water, it softens up.
A loofah bath scrub is made completely and only of natural
fibers. This material is perfect for a peeling application. In addition
to that, it cleans the skin very effectively, stimulates the metabolism
and is used to combat cellulites without irritating the skin.
The rather porous and viscoelastic nature of loofah also makes
a shower very exfoliating and leaves a refreshed, relaxed feeling.
